Senior Formulation Scientist, R&D

Description
Tempo Pharmaceuticals is seeking a highly motivated and energetic formulation scientist responsible for evaluation, formulation and development of new delivery technologies, such as nanoparticles, liposomes and related technologies. Applicant will work at the bench and manage a small group of bench scientists.

Experience
PhD w/ at least 5-10 yrs relevant work experience in formulation development in pharma or biotech; experience managing bench scientists a strong plus

MS w/ at least 10 yrs relevant work experience; experience managing bench scientists a strong plus

Responsibilities
Include but not limited to:

• Developing new drug delivery technologies, such as nanoparticle and liposome formulations
• Producing material at laboratory scale for in vitro and in vivo research
• Developing and using analytical tools for characterizing drug product concepts
• Collaborating closely with analytical team for specification and method development
• Collaborating closely with chemistry manufacturing and controls department for the development and scale-up of drug products
• Report writing and presentations

Key Skills
Working knowledge of parenteral formulation development with experience characterizing the formulation of novel controlled release/drug delivery technologies, particularly technologies at the micron or nanomaterial scale.

Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work well with others in a dynamic and highly collaborative environment

Motivational leader with ability to manage a small group of scientists and/or research associates

Excellent organizational, verbal/written communication skills

Energetic self-starter with a track record of productivity and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
